How our guides are checked

• Primary sources first. Tax rates, exemptions and program rules come from the Province of BC, the Canada Revenue Agency, CMHC, the Residential Tenancy Branch and BCFSA. Market figures come from CREA's MLS® Home Price Index, Greater Vancouver REALTORS® and the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board.
• Every page is dated. Each guide and calculator says when its rules and numbers were last checked, and the worked examples use the rates in effect on that date.
• Calculators are tested. Each calculator is checked against its worked examples before publishing, and again when rules change.
• We say what we don't cover. The pages give general information. They aren't legal, tax, immigration or financial advice, and each one says where a professional should be involved.

If something on a page is wrong or out of date, use the form below. Corrections are made as soon as they're confirmed.
