Maillardville is Coquitlam's oldest neighbourhood, the French-Canadian village founded in 1909 around the Fraser Mills, along Brunette Avenue and Laval Square near the Trans-Canada Highway. It mixes older houses on the hillside with newer condos and townhouses along Brunette and Lougheed, and it is one of the more affordable parts of Coquitlam.
