Gibsons is the first town off the Langdale ferry on the Sunshine Coast, a 40-minute crossing from Horseshoe Bay, with 4,758 residents in 2021. Lower Gibsons is the harbour village with its marina, shops and the waterfront that stood in for Molly's Reach on television for twenty years; Upper Gibsons along the highway has the newer subdivisions and the shopping. Most listings are detached houses, and because the ferry is only minutes away, Gibsons is the Sunshine Coast community that works best for anyone who still needs to be in Vancouver regularly. The town is small enough that one MLS® area covers it; EstateBlock lists nearby Roberts Creek, Langdale, Keats Island and Gambier Island separately. Prices are higher than Sechelt and the coast further north, and lower than anything on the North Shore.
