South Granville is the stretch of Granville Street from the bridge south to 16th Avenue and the streets either side, known for its galleries, the Stanley Theatre and the shops between 7th and 16th. The housing is large heritage and newer houses on tree-lined streets toward Shaughnessy, with condos and townhouses closer to Granville and Broadway. It is one of the west side's most expensive detached areas, and the Broadway Subway extension will put a station at Granville and Broadway.
