Chilliwack Proper West is the west side of the original city, around the historic downtown core and the Five Corners, west toward Evans Road and Highway 1. It mixes older houses on standard lots with the condos and townhouses that have followed the downtown revitalization, and it is one of the cheapest parts of Chilliwack for both. The downtown's new District 1881 shops and the Chilliwack Cultural Centre are its landmarks.
